49 children died during clinical trials in AIIMS

Over the past 30 months India's premium medical institute AIIMS has recorded a mortality rate of 1.18 percentage or 49 deaths. An NGO has sought information on this from AIIMS as a part of the RTI act. The institute said the studies were funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research, Department of Bio-technology, World Health Organisation and John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in the US and by AIIMS itself.

It comes down to assessing the causality in these mortality events to determine if the infant deaths are connected to the drugs being tested. You can read more on this at this link
