Coding Specialist

Job Description :
Perform coding for Diagnoses, Adverse Events, Concomitant Medications and other study specific areas (Surgeries, Micro-organisms) in order to match reported verbatims reported on Case Report Forms (CRF) in global Vaccines Development clinical trials, Phases I to IV, to preferred terms in the related coding glossary.
Assist in the Clinical Data Management (CDM) activities for several protocols and CDM projects.
In particular:
• Review and Code clinical verbatims to ensure data are medically consistent within a coding glossary
• Code clinical data (Adverse Events, Concomitant medications, Medical history/Diagnoses, Surgeries, Micro-organisms) with coding dictionaries (MedDRA, ICD-9, WHO-Drug)
• Review coding consistency reports and generate report listings of mappings for medical review. Generate queries to project teams to resolve problematic verbatims
• Update coding database per coding updates
Desired Profile:
Registered nurse or other (para)medical degree on bachelor level or higher.
Excellent spoken and written English.
Experience:
At least 1 year in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, preferably with direct clinical data management and/or clinical coding experience.

• Good organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and without close supervision
• Performs other duties as assigned.
