Satyam Computer Services Ltd. (NYSE:SAY), a leading global consulting and information technology services provider, announced it is working with Oracle's new Health Sciences Global Business Unit to provide leading clinical development applications. The solution, which Satyam is offering under the umbrella of "Clinical xPress," will help pharmaceutical, biotech and contract research organizations (CROs) more effectively address their most pressing business challenges, such as cost containment, safety management and accelerated time to market.
Satyam will be among the first to offer Oracle's suite of clinical development and safety applications, including Oracle(R) Remote Data Capture, Oracle(R) Clinical, Oracle(R) Adverse Event Reporting System, Oracle Thesaurus Management System and Oracle(R) Life Sciences Data Hub. It is the health sciences sector's most comprehensive suite of applications for clinical development and safety. Clinical xPress will be offered to clients on a subscription-based pricing model, enabling Satyam to provide its customers with end-to-end solutions for clinical development in ways that are affordable and flexible, and which are tailored to each client's unique budget.
"Satyam has been investing strategically to build Oracle-based life sciences solutions," said Kishore Rachapudi, Global Head, Satyam Life Sciences. "We are committed to providing modular, flexible services via Clinical xPress. This unique relationship allows our global customers to select services such as IT, Software as a Service, BPO and clinical data management."
Rachapudi also noted that the relationship demonstrates Satyam's commitment to business outcomes, and to driving its clients' transformation programs. "With Clinical xPress," he said, "we can enable pharmaceutical, biotech, CROs and medical device companies to optimize costs and accelerate drug development."
"We believe that expanding our relationship with Satyam and leveraging its life sciences sector expertise will help support our mission to accelerate insights for better health," said Neil de Crescenzo, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Oracle Health Sciences Global Business Unit. "Through closer alignment, Oracle and Satyam will be better positioned to deliver value to customers and help them create best-in-class systems to manage the large volume of patient data collected during clinical trials."
