PMP providers and EDI

The primary private insurance plans providing Medicare Part D coverage include (but not limited to) 

• UnitedHealth (3.8 million subscribers in 2006, or 27 percent)
• Humana (2.4 million, or 18 percent) 
• WellPoint (1 million, or 7 percent) 
• MemberHealth (924,100 subscribers, or 7 percent)
•  WellCare Health Plans, (849,700, or 6 percent)
• Coventry Health Care (596,100, or 4 percent) etc.,
  

Each time a prescription drug is issued it will mean these companies have to transmit data to CMS. We will discuss what kind of data is transmitted and how EDI/EDC comes in here.
