time to J(u)MP

JMP is the visual business intelligence tool from SAS. Now in its 7th version JMP started as a chemists tool and is now the visual analyitcal interface for SAS. It has direct integration with SAS, which means that you can use your SAS programs and datasets without any conversion in here. SAS support all the analytical steps that we can do in SAS in connection with SAS.

In our comparitive evaluation JMP scores third in terms of the best visual BI tool for clinical data exploration. Some of the issues are with the number of steps needs to get the data into the application and we had some issues with complex graphing tasks - it started getting slow (note that this was done on a 512 MB RAM system, might be a wrong observation). Frankly the BI tool is half the story, the key is the analyst who is supposed to ask intelligent questions and identify visual patterns that are relevant.

There is a definite rise in the activity in relation to Business Intelligence in India, this would mean that there is a rising demand for people with a sharp eye and ability to explore data using tools such as JMP.

We direct you to either SAS JMP website or the blog that has some relevant information if you wish to know more about JMP.
