CCDM Certification : Database freeze and lock

Locking ensures that at each record level there is an edit lock, which means that when one person is editing the entry is locked for other users to make any changes.

However freezing ensures that data can be not changed at all.

A CCDM expert is expected to understand and implement steps related to locking such as :
Patients are received
Unverified records resolved
All edit checks are resolved
All lab data loaded
All data clarification queries have been returned from sites
All coding completed

You are required to remove all unauthorized access and informs users. Apart of knowledge of locking you should be familiar with the steps for unlocking of the database.
